Today is the first of May, so we went to Brandon Hill in Bristol this morning in order to witness the Dancing up of the Sun. This is when the Morris men start dancing from before dawn to ensure that the Sun comes up.
The weather was a little damp but it was well worth going in order to support this annual event.
Beltane (proper) is on Thursday the 5th and more dancing (we hope) with Jack-in-the-green next Saturday. In the meantime here are some photos from this morning:
Carcer in the 9th house (Sagittarius) is likely to provide an important lesson in keeping to the old ways this week. The old ways are ancient and traditional for a reason, after all.
We endure when we do what is enduring. When we are noble and do the right thing under the circumstances irrespective of what it costs us in the short-term. Sometimes we need to put ourselves out for the greater good. And especially so for those for whom we care the most.
There is much that seems your responsibility at the moment, so much that only you are able to do, and so many people who need what you can give them.
Caput Draconis in the 3rd house (Gemini) shows that your responsibilities seem particularly to be needed quite close to home and for immediate family this week. The placement in the 3rd house suggests that you will be looked to for creating new ideas and approaches and to then communicate them to others.
It will help to avoid thinking of this as a chore or a burden but instead to reframe it. Look on it instead as an opportunity to help others steer their way. You may only need to do this with what seem obvious and simple steps to you but which they can’t seem to take on their own.
This is another way that the lessons that endure (the small obvious, ‘don’t over think it’ lessons) are the ones which prove enduring.
Take control of your Destiny
The Active Transform this week is Cauda Draconis (14) in the 9th house (Sagittarius). Opposition aspects like this are frequently seen as difficult or even bad. It is more helpful to think of them more as ‘challenging’. It is when two opposing forces or ideas meet that things change: a stationary nail and the moving head of the hammer, the static riverbank and the mobile river. So it is here. There must be opposition before what is stationary can change. Opposition then creates movement. It clears away the no longer useful, cleansing the way for new growth.
So how might your suggestions for change be received? Likely there will be gratitude for your input, but possibly with them needing further assistance to actually get moving and to get things done.
Don’t let this stop you from helping initially, even if they seem to keep taking from you. You will find inspiration will be at hand to help you open doors without having to take on all the load.
The Pars Saturnii is in the 7th house (Libra) completing this interpretation of how you might help others. It shows that at first they may be sluggish in implementing answers that would actually help them. But if they value your help—and for the sake of fairness—then you need to ensure that they keep up their side of the bargain.
