The seasons turn once more. Following solar Samhain yesterday it’s now the start of winter in the northern hemisphere. I was very fortunate in being able to Touch the Hair of the Goddess from the silver birch in our garden:
The tree is not very tall, but the wind conditions were just right… gentle breezes which ‘persuaded’ some of the leaves to fall. I’d tried with our own tree before, but the flight time of the leaves is usually too fast.
It’s now only 43 days until Yule so I think that this will probably be my last Touch this solar year. Next on the calendar is ‘Last and First’…

Everything is Conjunct in the Casting this week except for the Pars. This is a powerful message centring on a single theme: Be on the lookout and make the most of your chance when it presents itself.
Via in the 10th house (Cancer) feels like a still pool… Expectant, holding its breath, waiting…
Emotions are not so much running high as brought to a focus. There is clarity in your mind. There is clarity about the situation. What is needed is a spark to move you in one direction or another.
The general mood at the start of the week is one of defensiveness, therefore. It’s as though you don’t wish to disturb the delicate balance which exists. Or rather, you don’t want to ‘ruin’ the balance, though things do need to change. They need to progress. It’s time to move.
Cauda Draconis in the 10th house (Cancer) is conjunct with Via and shows that Flow is poised as a single drop to fall into this expectant pool. And intuitive spark might therefore to be expected, though not guaranteed. Perhaps, instead, it will be some change of emotion instead.
Whichever it is, some small thing is likely to change and its ripples affect the whole pool.
It’s possible that an authority or other powerful influence from outside presents this spark. Your initial response may be to feel defensive towards this potential disturbance. But Flow encourages you to entertain the possibility of change.
The Pars Luna this week is in the first house (Libra) showing where any difficulties might lie. Here the clear indication is that your thoughts about yourself and your position could be (or have been) getting in your way. This is no time to be self-conscious, however. Of course, in sending out feelers you are testing the ground. But that testing does not necessarily mean you have to be hesitant.
Cautious, yes. Prudent, certainly.
But not timid.
Take control of your Destiny
The Active Transform this week is Tristitia (1234) in the 10th house (Cancer). This represents an electric change. A shift which changes widely.
Once you are on the lookout for the small drop of change you are likely to be able to see its effects ripple across the pool. Be watchful and determined.
Once you recognise change for what it is you can embrace it. Allow it to cascade where it will — as you will. This is the natural order of things.
Allow sudden progress.
