How Can You Be So Selfish And Make Things Better For Everyone?

Carcer + Puer → Rubeus (14)
Astrogem Casting for week commencing 29th November 2015

Carcer in the sixth house (Aries) starts off the casting letting us know that you have a lot to do this week. You’re likely to find that you quickly get to a pinch-point this week where you’ll need to do things differently than you are currently doing.

That’s not going to be a bad thing at all. In fact, it’s going to simplify matters for everyone concerned — mainly you. (You can thank me later.)

At the moment you seem to have not only a lot to do but also a great deal of responsibility in having to get it all done. All this probably needs doing against some very tight timescales (as is often the case).

And while you probably won’t enjoy the pressure the Flow is likely to ensure that you’re able to keep focused on what you need to do once you get involved in your work.

You might find that it will help if you ‘go dark’ for a while. That is, log off, switch off, close the door, take the phone off the hook and just get your head down and get on with it.

I know that’s easier said than done, and that you may only be able to do that to a limited extent, but anything you can do to increase your focus and to tackle what you need to get done will help you.

Isn’t it always the same though? Just when you have decided to get stuck in up pops a ‘serious’ distraction. Distractions here are likely to be many and varied… Noisy children, noisy neighbours, an urgent phone call, someone just popping round — you know the score.

How to deal with this?

Puer in the eighth house is in a Contracting pattern suggesting that the best thing to do will be to do as much as you can in preparation and to make the work as automatic as possible. By automatic I mean that you schedule, plan, get stuff out and ready, get things lined up so that you don’t have to keep thinking (or rethinking) where you’re up to. You will be able to start (or restart after the interruption) with minimum fuss and lost time.

If you do what you know you need to do you will find that other people will (eventually) take the hint and stop bothering you. Well, not quite so much anyway.

Not that you won’t feel terribly guilty about being so seemingly selfish, but your commitments are your commitments and there will always be other things you could do.

Take control of your Destiny

Actually, you’re not being selfish in any way. The Active Transform is Rubeus (14) in the 10th house (Leo). Usually I might see this as a sign that you should work for the greater good, but not this time. This Active Transform in this casting shows that you have to work for your greater good, not the greater good — you have to do what you need to do now so that you can be even better for others later. That’s a kind of personal greater good.

One of the things that will keep you going whilst you’re plodding away this week is to keep in mind your possibilities, your hopes and your goals.

You’re working not just to complete your tasks to reach your better future.
